DEWALT Sponsors Springtime Battery Trade-In Event

May 1-31: Recycle your old rechargeable battery and get a 10 percent discount on a new, replacement battery

ATLANTA (May. 1, 2014) – During the month of May, DEWALT® customers can earn a 10 percent discount on the purchase of a new DEWALT power tool battery by recycling their used rechargeable batteries. The recycling and collection portion of the DEWALT trade-in initiative is being provided by Call2Recycle®, North America’s first and largest consumer battery stewardship and recycling program.

Between May 1 – 31, customers who drop off any brand of rechargeable battery from a cordless power tool—such as a cordless drill, cordless screwdriver, cordless saw or cordless nailer—at one of the company’s 75 service centers will receive a 10 percent discount on the purchase of a new Porter Cable, Black & Decker, or DEWALT battery. (Purchase must be made at the same time the battery is brought in for recycling.)

DEWALT’s partnership with Call2Recycle offers convenient, no-cost battery recycling to its customers year-round. Recycling the rechargeable batteries associated with the company’s cordless power tools is a core component of DEWALT’s corporate stewardship and sustainability goals.

“Effectively recycling these rechargeable batteries is a team effort that requires the participation of our customers,” said Nate Pellerin, Marketing Manager of DEWALT Factory Service. “The no-cost recycling program Call2Recycle provides makes it easy for DEWALT to offer incentive events like our springtime trade-in.”
