O’Brien Joins Growing Logistics Operation at Call2Recycle

ATLANTA (July 9, 2012) – Stephen O’Brien has been named managing director of operations at Call2Recycle®, the only no-cost rechargeable battery and cellphone collection program in North America. O’Brien will oversee operations and logistics for all recycling collections in the U.S. and Canada. Previously, he worked as director of operation for The Home Delivery Group where he had also been regional manager.

“As more and more batteries are collected and recycled, our team is growing to meet the needs of a larger collection infrastructure,” said Carl Smith, CEO and president of Call2Recycle. “Stephen has a successful career in operations and will drive growth of Call2Recycle’s logistics, distribution and delivery operations in the U.S and Canada.”

O’Brien is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps where he served as a logistics officer and achieved the rank of Captain.  Before entering the private sector, he was most recently assigned as Inspector/Instructor within 4th FSSG.  Prior to that he served as the maintenance management officer for 5th Battalion, 10th Marines at Camp Lejeune, N.C. After military service, O’Brien held management positions in operations for two other logistics providers.
