Legislation, consumer efforts contribute to collection of 6.7 million pounds of rechargeable batteries

ATLANTA (Jan. 18, 2011) –Call2Recycle®, North America’s only free battery and cellphone collection program, today announced a record-breaking 10.1 percent increase in its overall rechargeable battery collections in 2010. Through its network of more than 30,000 retail, municipal and business partners across the U.S. and Canada, Call2Recycle collected more than 6.7 million pounds (3 million kilograms) of rechargeable batteries during the year.

Battery Recycling Soared During Weekend Event

Torontonians recycled 2,500 kilograms of batteries during Call2Recycle® event with Guy Lafleur
