Call2Recycle Announces Company Name Change

When the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) was founded in 1994, it was done so to successfully educate and collect rechargeable batteries, specifically Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd). Since then, the organization has grown to accept more chemistries and more products (cellphones and all batteries in Canada), positioning itself to be seen as a reputable environmental leader. Simply put, we have outgrown our name.

To that end, as of January 1, 2013, we have formally transitioned our company name to “Call2Recycle, Inc.” and “Call2Recycle Canada, Inc.” from the “Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC)” and the “Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation of Canada (RBRCC)”, respectively. The program name will continue as “Call2Recycle®”.

Even though we are changing our name, we want to stress that Call2Recycle’s service, support, and long-term commitment towards its partners and the environment remain unchanged. We will continue to fulfill our mission and vision as the leading North American product stewardship organization for the safe collection, transportation and recycling of batteries.
