Why are we collecting sales tax?

Due to the Supreme Court decision regarding South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc., (2018), states may charge tax on purchases made from out-of-state sellers, even if the seller does not have a physical presence in the taxing state. What do I need to do if I’m a tax-exempt organization?

Customers that are tax-exempt in Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, Texas, Vermont, and Washington State will need to submit a copy of their state or federal sales tax exemption certificate to Call2Recycle, Inc. to avoid being charged sales tax.
