Call2Recycle® is currently the Illinois-approved primary and rechargeable battery stewardship plan that allows consumers to recycle primary and rechargeable batteries through a convenient network of drop-off locations.
Under Illinois law, producers of primary or rechargeable batteries in Illinois must participate in an approved stewardship plan, which provides free collection and recycling of primary and rechargeable batteries for consumers. This list of compliant producers and brands can continue to sell primary and rechargeable batteries in Illinois.
