Call2Recycle Supports Retailers in Meeting New York State

NEW YORK (June 6, 2011) – Call2Recycle®, the only free rechargeable battery and cellphone collection program in North America, today announced its support for New York State’s retailers seeking to comply with requirements of the statewide battery take-back law. The New York State Rechargeable Battery Law requires retailers to take back rechargeable batteries as of June 8th so that they can be recycled through a manufacturer-funded program.

New Jersey Experiences Surge in Battery Recycling

ATLANTIC COUNTY, N.J., (Feb. 18, 2011) – In 2010, New Jersey residents made great strides toward becoming responsible consumers of wireless technologies by recycling 22.5 percent more rechargeable batteries than the previous year. The increase was due in part to the statewide awareness efforts of the Association of New Jersey Household Hazardous Waste Coordinators (ANJHHWC), in partnership with Call2Recycle®, North America’s only free rechargeable battery and cellphone collection program.
