New York (December 5, 2011) Effective today, it is illegal for any resident in the state of New York to “knowingly dispose of rechargeable batteries as solid waste.” Call2Recycle®, the only free rechargeable battery and cellphone collection program in North America, provides a network of collection locations throughout the state of New York, as well as nationwide, where residents can recycle their used rechargeable batteries at no cost.

Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency

The Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency (OCRRA) was created by the New York State Legislature in 1990 to manage the solid waste produced in Onondaga County on a daily basis.
