Ontario Industry Stewardship Plan Update

As 2013 draws to a hectic close, Call2Recycle Canada continues to progress its Industry Stewardship Plan (ISP) with Waste Diversion Ontario (WDO).  Call2Recycle has been collecting batteries in the province since 1997 but is now seeking the opportunity to become the official stewardship program for all consumer batteries in the province.

TORONTO (June 12, 2013) — Call2Recycle® Canada, the country’s first and largest consumer battery stewardship program, supports the proposed Waste Reduction Act and Waste Reduction Strategy recently announced by Ontario Environment Minister, Jim Bradley. Battery Recycling Soared During Weekend Event

Torontonians recycled 2,500 kilograms of batteries during Call2Recycle® event with Guy Lafleur

TORONTO, Sept. 29, 2010 – Call2Recycle®, a free battery and cellphone collection program in North America, is proud to announce that Torontonians recycled approximately 2,500 kilograms of batteries during a three hour event on Sept. 25 at the CN Tower with hockey legend Guy Lafleur.  More than 3,000 people joined in the recycling festivities.  Those who brought old batteries and cellphones for recycling were rewarded with signed hockey memorabilia.
