Organizations were recently recognized with Call2Recycle’s Leader in Sustainability award for 2012. The Leader in Sustainability award honors organizations that demonstrate the strongest commitment to sustainability through their consistent participation in the Call2Recycle program.
When the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) was founded in 1994, it was done so to successfully educate and collect rechargeable batteries, specifically Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd). Since then, the organization has grown to accept more chemistries and more products (cellphones and all batteries in Canada), positioning itself to be seen as a reputable environmental leader. Simply put, we have outgrown our name.
