Call2Recycle has selected the 2015 Leaders in Sustainability Awards’ recipients, recognizing partners within different sectors in the U.S. and Canada for their commitment to helping preserve the environment. This year, the North American awards platform recognizes over 100 top-performing collection sites, for their loyalty and dedication to keeping batteries out of landfills.
Each year, the Call2Recycle program strives to reach a larger number of residents who can drop off their used household batteries at one of the 30,000 collection sites in the U.S. and Canada. The award-winning collection sites and their dedicated team of professionals have been key in helping spread the word among consumers, actively contributing to Call2Recycle’s mission to optimize collections and responsibly manage batteries and cellphones at their end of life. These partners have made every effort to educate and inform residents about the importance of battery recycling to protect and conserve the environment by participating in various Call2Recycle campaigns and their own environmental programs.
The organization has awarded a newly designed plaque to organizations that have reached the highest collection rates in the U.S. and in Canada in 2015. Congratulations to all of the recipients on their achievement and exemplary participation!
