Call2Recycle Invites Seattle Residents to “Weigh In” on Battery Recycling Day

To celebrate Seattle’s 2nd Annual Battery Recycling Day, on Friday, June 28, Call2Recycle will host a battery collection drive featuring a full-size battery scale. We invite area residents and organizations to scour their attics, junk drawers, and desks, and bring their old batteries to Westlake Park to help us tip the scale and lift John Curley, Emmy Award-winning former host of King 5 TV’s Evening Magazine, off the ground!

Come join us to learn about battery recycling and bring your batteries to be rewarded with prizes in addition to doing your part for the environment.

Events scheduled for the day:

    • Collection Drive: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. The Call2Recycle team will be on-hand to collect batteries. Anyone who brings batteries for recycling will receive fun giveaways!

    • Tip the Scale Challenge: Noon – 2:00 p.m. Seattle residents are encouraged to ‘weigh in’ on battery recycling by bringing their used batteries to help us ‘tip the scale’ and lift John Curley off the ground.

  • Meet John Curley, Emmy Award-winning former host of King 5 TV’s Evening Magazine: Noon – 2:00 p.m.

Get involved! This event is an opportunity for companies, associations and other organizations around Seattle to gather batteries from all over their communities. Then on June 28, they can bring the batteries to Westlake Park to show their commitment to the environment.

Let us know that you’re coming – visit us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter (#takecharge & #sbrd2013) or if you have questions about the event or would like to help promote the event in your community or at your business, please email Kellen Jahn.
