*The U.S. DOT granted a special permit to Call2Recycle® to make the collection and recycling of dry-cell batteries even more convenient for sites using Call2Recycle’s collection box to ship batteries for recycling. These sites will no longer need to tape the terminals or bag dry-cell Ni-Cd, Ni-MH batteries (up to 9 V), and alkaline batteries (up to 12 V). This tremendously reduces the amount of time needed to bag and/or tape batteries collected through the program.
