Nonprofit Call2Recycle Names Todd Ellis Northeast Regional Account Manager

ATLANTA, June 4, 2009 – Call2Recycle®, the nation’s most successful rechargeable battery and cellphone recycling program, today announced the appointment of Todd Ellis to regional account manager for the Northeast. In this capacity, Mr. Ellis will work with Call2Recycle retailers, businesses and communities in Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington, DC to maximize the collection and recycling of batteries.

As regional account manager, Mr. Ellis will support participants’ efforts to educate consumers on the importance of recycling batteries, as well as identify and recruit new participants to the program. He will also be instrumental in strengthening Call2Recycle’s grassroots initiatives to help raise awareness of battery recycling and the environment.

“We’re excited to have Todd join the organization and we’re confident that his industry expertise will be a strong asset in growing the scope and volume of Call2Recycle’s collections,” said Carl Smith, Chief Executive Officer, RBRC. “We’re confident that Todd will be able to strengthen our efforts by nurturing existing partnerships and introducing new participants to the program.”

Mr. Ellis has more than 13 years of experience in the recycling industry, having held various positions in operations, customer relations, promotion and education. He most recently served as general manager of operations for Sprint Recycling, Inc., one of the largest private paper recycling carters in Manhattan, where he managed day-to-day operations and acted as a liaison between the organization’s operations, customer service and billing departments.

Prior to that, Mr. Ellis served as assistant director for the Northeast Resource Recovery Association (NRRA), a non-profit organization that provides information and technical and marketing assistance to more than 300 members, maximizing their waste reduction and recycling efforts. Mr. Ellis was also the recycling planner for the New Hampshire Governor’s Recycling Program where he promoted municipal and school recycling activities throughout the state.

Administered by the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC), Call2Recycle is the nation’s most comprehensive rechargeable battery and cellphone recycling solution. It offers a free and convenient way to recycle old cellphones and used rechargeable batteries found in cordless electronic products, such as laptop computers, digital cameras, PDAs, cordless power tools, two-way radios, mp3 players and camcorders.
