Call2Recycle Canada Sees Dramatic Growth in Past 17 Years

In 2013, Call2Recycle Canada collected 3.7 million pounds (1.7 million kilograms) of batteries–the most batteries collected in one year by the organization.  The company has collected 13.2 million pounds (6 million kilograms)—or the weight of 880 large African elephants—since the program started in 1997.

Newalta Sorting Facilities Moving to Hamilton, ON

Newalta_157Call2Recycle’s Canadian battery-sorting partner Newalta is in the process of re-locating its national sorting operation from Fort Erie to Hamilton, Ontario. This year, Canadians have already recycled more than one million kilograms of batteries, a 26 per cent increase in collections compared to 2013.
