RBRC Receives 2006 Zephyr & US Ad Review Awards

ATLANTA, June 20, 2006 – The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC) was recognized once again for its marketing endeavors, drawing accolades from the Zephyr Awards in the “International Campaign” category for its 2005 annual report, and from the US Ad Review in the category of “Print Ads” for its “Recycling isn’t painful” advertisement.

“It is an honor for us to be recognized by two distinguished awards programs in the industry,” said Ralph Millard, Executive Vice President of RBRC. “Our award-winning campaign has been recognized on an ongoing basis not only for the message it conveys, but also for its creativity. This continues to inspire us to produce campaigns of the highest quality.”

RBRC’s award-winning ads reflect the organization’s strategy of conveying messages in a way that is human, accessible and lighthearted. The porcupine ad, part of its “Animal Campaign,” depicts a porcupine perched atop a nest of flowers on a discarded camcorder with the slogan “Recycling isn’t Painful.” The annual report was specifically designed to share the organization’s successes in an engaging way while avoiding “information overload.” Both campaigns were created in conjunction with BtB Marketing Communications, Inc., a Raleigh-based advertising agency located in North Carolina.

“We’re extremely pleased to once again find ourselves recognized as industry leaders,” said BtB’s Vice President of Creative Services, Geoff Dunkak. “Awards like these acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the very talented people at BtB and RBRC.”

The US Ad Review is a quarterly compilation of the best in advertising, honoring marketing campaigns that deliver clever headlines, striking visuals and an overall effectiveness of communication. The Zephyr Awards are a unique advertising creative competition, awarding campaigns that rise above the competition through clear and powerful communication.

RBRC’s creative team has a history of award winning advertising, having also received both a MarCom Creative Award in 2006 and GOLD ADDY Award in 2005.
